Does this sound like a nice tattoo for a girl?

I want to get a small tattoo of a Ulysses butterfly sitting on a pink frangipani flower, because I live in North Queensland (aus) and am about to go overseas for a long time, so this reminds me of home. I've never had a tattoo before and am worried about how much it will hurt. I am thinking of getting it on my lower back, because people have told me it doesn't hurt much there, and I don't have a lot of heavily padded flesh to work with aside from my butt, and I don't want to get it there. Any advice/comments?

I don't really like tattoo's on girls. But if you get one you should think about it for alonggg time because your going to have it forever. If it is that special to you then...well..i guess get it. But you should just be really sure before you get one. Butterfly's would be okay better than other stuff you could get soo..idk I hope this helps..sorry if i sound rude at all..
Reply:Advice . . .

Don't get one, you will regret it.
Reply:my advice is..dont do it any time soon because you seem unsure of it..you can try stenciling it in to check it out in several places. My advice of the lower back..is to get it to one side..the center lower back has been overdone and is not as classy. Try it out but if you are too afraid you shouldnt get one. Your tattoo your choice.
Reply:If you really think what you want through and pick a location that you are happy with then why would you regret it? If it is something that you want then go for it and since it is something that is meaningful to you then thats even better. It's your body and your life.
Reply:Does it matter what all of us think?

This tattoo is for YOU.

If it is what YOU choose, then yes, it sounds like a PERFECT tattoo for a girl.

Something that is symbolic of you or something you love is a great choice for a tattoo, as opposed to something scribbled out in a frenzy just to get the 'First Tattoo" monkey off of your back.

I say, go for it.
Reply:I think the butterfly might be ok, but don't get the frangipani. They have been overdone by the surf shops and culture, and as a result now they just look...bogan.

A neighbour of mine got frangipanis combined with a tribal design on her lower back and it was the most stupid effing thing i ever saw. lol.
Reply:Because of the detail and the obvious meaning, it seems that you are sure of what you want. It doesnt matter if it's a "nice" tattoo for a girl, because people's opinions vary. Some people will say no one should get a tattoo, or girls shouldnt get tattoos, or tattoos with butterflies are too common. Most people would say don't get the tattoo on your lower back; I'm inclined to agree because that is often considered a "tramp stamp", but if you want it there, go for it. If you are only picking the location based on level of pain, reconsider. The pain level is different for each person, some people think it hurts like hell, some think it tickles, and some dont feel it at all. It also depends on your tattoo artist, they are not all equal. Because this is your first tattoo, you will have nothing to compare the pain to, so get it whereever you want it, and if you decide to get a second one you will know how much you can bear.
Reply:it sounds pretty to me. Don't listen to people who tell you not to get one. Tattoos are beautiful and meaningful to the people who have them. I have never regretted my tattoo. As long as it means something to you, I doubt you'll regret it either.

As for placement, a lot of girls go for the lower back. In honesty, while some places hurt more than others, it's going to hurt either way. You might want to consider your back, neck, ankle, etc

Good luck!!!
Reply:Your tattoo idea sounds beautiful. The most beautiful part about it is the fact that it means something to you. Don't let the fear of pain stop you from getting a beautiful piece of work. Everyone handles pain differently. It depends on how big the piece is and where you're getting it. I would describe being tattooed as a hard, constant vibration that burns a little. After five minutes it becomes painless because your endorphins kick in. Get your tattoo where ever you want it. I think lower back tattoos are very pretty. So I say go for it. I've been told that the lower back is a tender area to get tattooed because of your spine. But everyone is different. I hope I could help! Good luck! :)
Reply:A nice tattoo for a girl? There is no such thing as a "nice" tattoo for anyone. I apologize in advance if I offend you, but they're trashy and low-class looking. Think about how it'll look when you're 89 years old and your skin is wrinkly and saggy, you'll regret you ever got it.

My advice to you as someone who has "been there" and "done that", don't get a tattoo. Trust me, it's not worth it.
Reply:Dont get a tattoo. It's against the nature of the human body and it doesnt look cool on anyone... There are many other things you could do to remember of home. maybe a sticker on ur cellphone, or some thing like that. but why damage your body
Reply:If i were u i really wouldnt plz dont and yes u will regret it get a temporary one

it can pain for weeks dont get 1

u can have later pain problems
