How do you get rid of rust on frangipani trees.I have a new dwarf evergreen tree which has developed rust?

If you have Frangipani Rust (Coleosporium domingense syn C. plumeriae), a fungal disease, you could try this:

Non-chemical:

- Prune out and destroy infected and dead wood during the dormant season.

- Rake up and destroy all dead leaves.

- Removing infected leaves early in the season may be effective in some home gardens.

- When applicable, remove alternate hosts growing in the near vicinity.

- Apply a foliar spray of friendly fungi (Verticillium lecanii).

Chemical:

Certain fungicides are effective in protecting plants from this rust infection. Fungicides containing oxycarboxin, mancozeb, or sulfur are reported to work. Be sure to read the label and follow all instructions.
